Pirates fall to Chiefs, 3-2.

The Souhegan Pirates (2-3) and the Nashua Chiefs (6-1-1) played an exciting baseball game, with he place Chief winning the contest in the bottom of the seventh 3 to 2.

Robert Graham threw seven strong innings for the Pirates. Robert Graham scattered our hits, struck out eleven and walked five.

The Pirates defense was led by shortstop Terry Dugdale who had five assists at shortstop and Tim Beliveau at first base.

In the fifth inning, Tim Beliveau doubled to center and scored the Pirates tying run on a double down the right field line off the bat of Tyler Ford.

Down 2 to 1 in the top of the seventh, Terry Dugdale walked, stole second and with two outs Matt Schagrin was intentionally walked and time Beliveau (2 for 2) was walked ... Tyler Ford bases loaded infield single (2 for 3) drove in Terry Dugdale with the tying run ...

Pirates fall to Monadnock, 12-5.

The Souhegan Pirates drop a game to the Monadnock Mountains 12 to 5 to even the season record at 2 wins and 2 losses.

The Pirates pitching ran into problems in two innings allowing seven walks and seven hits in the third and fifth inning.

Souhegan defense was led by centerfielder Chris Chininis.

The Pirates banged out nine hits with multiple hits from Terry Dugdale (3 for 4 and a double), Robert Graham (2 for 4) and Cameron Crooke (2 for 5 and an rbi).

Pirates over Hollis, 12-1!

The Souhegan Pirates opened the season with a 12 to 1 victory over the Hollis / Brookline Dodgers. Souhegan opened the game with an 11 run first inning to post a victory.

In the first inning, the Pirates scored 11 runs on eight hits led by Terry Dugdale (a home run and a single and 4 rbi). 

For the game, the offense banged out 11 hits for the game ... Terry Dugdale 3 for 3 and 4 rbi, Robert Graham 2 for 2, Matt Schagrin 2 for 3 and 3 rbi and Cameron Crook 2 for 3.

The defense played errorless baseball by second baseman Tyler Ford.

Tyler Hansis was the opening day pitcher and picked up the win allowing three hit, striking out four and walking two batters.

Pirates defeat Mavericks, 13-8!

The Souhegan Pirates played the Nashua Mavericks in Historic Holman Stadium (Nashua) and came away with a 13 to 8 victory to up the season record to 2-0.

Robby McCormick was the starting pitcher for the Pirates. Robby pitched four innings, allowed three hits and struck out three to pick up the win. Tyler Ford pitched 2.6 innings in relief, allowed four hits and struck out one. Robert Graham entered the game with the bases loaded and struck out the only batter he faced to stop the Mavericks seventh inning rally.

The Pirates defense was led by the outstanding play of Chris Chininis (centerfield) and Cameron Crook (catcher). Chris Chininis made an outstanding catcher running down a would be double to left center and in the fifth inning catcher a fly ball to center and threw a strike to home plate where catcher Cameron Crook blocked the plate and put the tag on the would be Maverick run to complete the double play.

The Mavericks offense was led by William Pena who was 2 for 3 and Lunn who was 2 for 4.

Souhegan scored multiple runs in each of the first five innings. Multiple hitters for the Pirates were Chris Chininis 2 for 4, 3 runs scored, Terry Dugdale a two run home run in the fifth inning, Bobby Graham 2 for 3, Cameron Crook 2 rbi and Robby McCormick 2 for 3.

Pirates Player of the Week (7/4/10)!
 

The Souhegan Pirates have announced that the player of the week for the week of July 4 is Chris Chininis. Chris Chininis has played left field and second base for the Pirates to add to the Souhegan Pirates strong defensive team. At the plate, Chris batted .500 (6 for 12) in the team's four games.

Chris scored five runs and stole seven bases as Chris bats lead off for the Pirates. Chris's individual speed has added to the Pirates offensive attack and in the field to strengthen the team defense as the team's over-all season record is eleven wins and six losses and third place in the Southern League regular season.
